Contra
Back in the late 80s, Contra was practically a household name, due to its immense popularity on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The intense, run-and-gun action was exciting, gripping, even stunning in places. Like many games of its day, Contra began as an arcade game, and was ported to home video games. However, we hadn’t yet reached the time when most arcade ports felt identical to their proper arcade versions. Read the rest of this entry »
PDC World Darts
PDC boasts excellent gamplay and is in my opinion the main selling point for the game. Players can opt to take a particular player through a whole season, participating in all the main events of the PDC calendar. Alternatively players can create their own character and start from scratch, working their way up to the number one rank spot. The game itself is one of those which is easy to pick up but hard to master. It only takes a few throws of the dart to get up to speed but to start hitting 180’s or the maximum “9 dart finish” takes lots of practice Read the rest of this entry »
Zoids
The game play is amazing, yet hard. It takes a lot of practice to get good at this game and the AI is not forgiving. The game spans a few modes which are pretty basic. Story, Vs, and a few other extras. The neatest part is customizing your Zoid with weapons and other unique features Read the rest of this entry »
American Idol
Once you get into play you will notice that this game is one of those in which you need to use passwords, meaning that you will need to be writing those down all the time, and this turns out to be quite boring. Then, apart from the usual options you will be confronted with 3 main game modes, one in which you can practice the songs, other in which you will need to perform all the songs one after the others until you get a bad score and finally one which could be somehow seen as a story mode. In this one you can create your own player by picking his “final” body from sets of different of parts available, like different colors for the hair, skin and so on Read the rest of this entry »
Frogger II
You can play old school original Frogger levels if you succeed in unlocking them. In these levels, you are presented with an old Frogger layout and have to do the same mission you do in Frogger 2, which is rescue the babies. The babies and the character you control which you are allowed to pick for the arcade are in 3-D Read the rest of this entry »
Resident Evil
This is one of the best video games I have ever had the pleasure of playing, as it was a lot of fun to play and featured sharp graphics. The Resident Evil series has always been one of my favorite video game series, mainly because of the great quality game play that the series has always provided. And of all the Resident Evil games out there, Code Veronica is my favorite Read the rest of this entry »
Halo Wars
I was really blown away by the quality of the cut scenes in this game. Even though you maybe playing a RTS with all of its zoomed out camera angles, come cinematic time, you’re looking at movie quality CG populating your TV screen. The music is Halo, enough said, its good. The dialog can have its plain moments, but overall it does have an engaging component Read the rest of this entry »
Dragonball Z
People seem to compare this game with Budokai 3 a lot for some reason, even after playing it, this is wrong as it shouldn’t be compared with 3 but with Budokai 1. I’m probably right in guessing that if your reading ( or have read ) this review then you are interested in some form in either Dragonball z itself or fighting games. First off Dragonball z Burst Limit for the Xbox 360/PS3 is a Primary fighting game Read the rest of this entry »
GT 5 Prologue
GT 5 Prologue contains around 70 cars with 6 tracks, far cry from the over 600 cars people come to experience from a GT title, but it’s called Prologue for a reason. Regardless of the lack of content, you will get the awesome simulation experience in the next-gen (or current gen as now the case) flavor. The gameplay is as solid and realistic as ever, with full 1080P support and 60 frames per second to enhance the experience. Read the rest of this entry »
Mario Party
To begin, you have exactly three mushrooms, which translate to rolls of the dice. There’s the chance to earn more mushrooms but until you master a few of the mini-games you’ll be starting a new game every five minutes for at least three-quarters of an hour. There are not enough mushrooms to start! Read the rest of this entry »
